Interview with Interlabels Industries, India: evolution and innovation to meet the global market requirements
Italian press manufacturer GIDUE S.p.A. announces that Interlabels Industries (P) Limited has just joined the GIDUE family having bought at the end of 2006 an E-Combat 370 8 colours UV flexo press bound to the production of self-adhesive labels.
Interlabels Industries (P) Ltd., established in 1983, is located in the outskirt of Mumbai, India. The Company employs 250 people and has 10 machines installed, mainly rotary letterpress, letterpress and UV flexo presses. The market sectors in which they are mostly active are: beauty and cosmetics, household products, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and automotive.
The Company features three divisions: one entirely dedicated to labels (security labels, hot temperature labels, VIP labels); a second to automatic labelling machines produced in cooperation with the Italian company Arca, and a third one offering barcode solutions in partnership with suppliers like Sato and Symbol Technologies.
Interlabels is a leading label manufacturer in India and declares to offer “Total Labelling Solutions” to the industry based on product identity (“every label is special” Interlabels uses to say), technological pioneer innovation, strict quality control, brand owners satisfaction and comprehensive customer service.
Mr. Gautam Kothari, Managing Director of Interlabels Industries (P) Limited is clear when stating the reason of the choice of a GIDUE press: “We traditionally worked with narrow presses and were looking for a wider web machine. Full servo technology was another element we were looking for and finding both in one single equipment was a lucky shot”. The E-Combat is part of the GIDUE Combat™ family, which counts on more than 200 installations worldwide and is synonymous of reliability and long lasting performance. The print and impression cylinders are driven by two independent motors to achieve total versatility on any substrate, from PE unsupported film to 250 microns carton. One of the E-Combat distinguishing mark is the Flower™, the GIDUE patented flexo head, which grants high printing quality, adjustments-free operation, lifetime stability and high operating speeds to best suit short production runs and interchangeability of operators.
“The E-Combat,” continues Mr. Kothari “is dedicated to print both large and small volumes but would mainly help us competing in short run jobs”. The reason of this statement is hidden in the present global packaging world, which is more and more oriented to satisfy quick evolving taste, deep customisation and respond to price pressure and the need of high production speeds. The Indian market, one of the fastest growing emerging markets in the world, is no exception. India is expanding its total production both to respond to the internal demand and to export and hosts almost any multinational company active either in the food, beverage, cosmetics or pharmaceutical field. The most stringent requirement of large groups is for repeatable high quality and versatility. “Interlabels has invested enormously in top quality equipment to ensure the best product ever, keep the pace of the evolving labelling market and satisfy the needs of leading brands companies,” says Mr. Kothari.
Looking deeper into the company structure, concludes Mr. Kothari “Our factory equipment includes state-of-the-art presses, microprocessor controlled coating machineries and highly trained people including label experts, professional artists, a fully equipped designing studio and the latest hardware and software technologies. Objective is to be at the edge over the competition and provide always the most attractive and cost-effective range of quality labels”.
Recognising the need for wider and more productive press, Interlabels worked closely with Reifenhäuser India Ltd., who are the agents for GIDUE in the country. GIDUE is delighted to have been the supplier of choice to Interlabels and look forward to being part of its future successes.
