Shrinkable Sleeves:

In most of the cases you would like to produce self-adhesive labels too. The 370mm and the 430mm (preferred choice) would both suite. If you plan to concentrate on sleeves exclusively than choose a 530mm wide press without converting. The film used for shrinkable sleeves is often a stable substrate, which needs an efficient web temperature control and an adequate tension control. Thus several press configurations are possible.

* A mechanical driven Combat with non driven chilled drums and servo infeed and outfeed is the minimum configuration to produce labels and shrinkable sleeves with high print and register quality. ( F - Combat ).
* To be able to match exactly the print repeat sizes (which are often requested in metric measurement i.e. 140,00 mm), a servo drive for the print cilinders, non driven chilled drums, servo infeed and outfeed are needed ( P - Combat ).
* Short Combat is the most complete possible solution in case of UV Flexo (and eventually Gravure) configurations, due to its perfect register, short set up times and limited wastes.
* Water based adhesives and whites are often used in the production of shrinkable sleeves. E - Combat adds drying flexibility by offering infrared and hot air drying solutions, easily interchangeable with the UV curing cassettes.
* Mixed E and Short configurations are possible on the same press to get the best out of Nuova GIDUE tecnology for the production of shrinkable sleeves.
