Flexible Packaging :

First identify the main press target. If you are planning to produce only flexible packaging then the right width would be 530 mm without the converting section. If you are planning to make labels and film, choose between the 430mm and the 530mm press width. 370 mm width might suit for shrinkable sleeves, it is not ideal for flexible packaging. On Short and E – Combat presses there is hardly any limitation to the substrate you can run (PE unsupported substrates also welcome).

  • The Short Combat is perfect if you are happy to use UV inks. The wastes and set up times are limited such us that that you and your customers will not believe it at first. The print quality matches all the comparisons with gravure, with a much better register. And the choice of filmic substrates is virtually unlimited.
  • If you need some water or solvent based inks in some specific stations (tinting, whites, glues etc.), and keep a UV base, E - Combat is a flexible solution to easily change drying configuration several times per day.
  • Both on E and Short Combat the MPP Combination Platform allows to interchange flexo with specially designed Gravure heads for the narrow web needs (short web path, easy operations).
  • The P - Combat is a cost effective solution (full servo drive, automatic register, non driven chilled drums) to effectively produce from 30 microns BOPP to shrinkable sleeves and self-adhesive labels.
  • If you are looking to produce with solvent based inks only, we would rather suggest you to evaluate a CI traditional press, you would probably get a better solution to your needs.
  • Our Offset Xpannd solution is at the moment not economically and practically adequate for the flexible packaging industry which is often requiring more than 20 print repeats formats for each print unit.
