Aluminum foil – Laminated Tubes:

Aluminum foils and laminated substrates (with or without aluminum layer) share the same principal issue. The high cost of the substrate. As a general experience presses are often full dedicated to the substrates and are preferred without any converting solution. Press widths can vary from 370mm, to 430mm and 530mm.

Yoghourt caps: the substrate is in general stable, thus the choices are relatively open.

  • The preferred solution is the Short Combat for its short web path and reduced wastes (the additional E - Register fully automated option should be considered, as a small reduction in wastes can bring to a substantial raise of profits)
  • If the budget is limited a simple F - Combat (mechanical drive, non driven chilled drums, servo infeed and outfeed) can perfectly do the job, hold good register and deliver high quality with a limited capital investment.
  • An intermediate solution is the P – Combat. It adds to the F - Combat servo driven print cylinder and impression roller per each print station, to allow for pre-register and automatic register and reduced wastes in case of frequent job change-overs.

Pharmaceutical blisters: the configuration must be carefully thought out as some substrates are very instable and need a specially designed web and register control.

  • A Short Combat or an E – Combat should be considered. Nuova GIDUE has developed specific dedicated solutions exclusive to pharma blisters applications. Ask for a technical meeting under confidentiality rules for a deep technical evaluation of your needs.
  • An advisable option would also be the non-stop unwinder and rewinder for aluminum foil specially developed by Nuova GIDUE.
  • Nuova GIDUE has specifically developed for pharma blisters an innovative automatic register solution which eliminates any kind of lateral mark (and consequent waste), though keeping perfect control on the automatic register (Mark Less II)

Laminated substrates for tooth paste tubes: the substrate side to side caliper inconsistency can create both lateral and length register instability.

  • A Short Combat or an E – Combat should be considered. Nuova GIDUE has developed specific dedicated solutions exclusive to tooth paste tubes applications, to match the same register tolerances of the CI letterpress machines often used in this industry. With easier operations, a more consistent print quality, with a higher productivity and a reduced waste during set-up time.
